Snowflake Challenge Day 12
Jan. 31st, 2014 08:10 pmDay 12
In your own space, talk about what you think the future holds for fandom. What are your hopes and dreams for fandom? Do you have any predictions about what the next five years holds for fandom?
I guess this post (wow, from when I first started my lj!) and this project pretty much answer about my hopes and dreams for fandom! That first post suggests the possibility of fic writers working together with the original authors of the 'verses they're writing for, and then Kindle Worlds happened, so wow! Let me look into my crystal ball again .... I think fanfic will become much more respected and mainstream within the next five years, and transformative works will have their own place, with fanworks becoming more and more desirable to worlds' originators, and a mutually beneficial financial arrangement will emerge. That's my hope, anyway. To have fanfic written for a world I created ... that would be the coolest thing!
