It's weird, the one I feel most sorry for here is John, so utterly utterly clueless in how to deal with Deans cravings, and incapable of seeing that there is a point in the advice from Pastor Jim.

How Dean longs for the momentarily happiness of a fat and sugar rush, the escape and release he can find in comics and tv or the camaraderie of sitting in front of the impala with his father.
Because he cant find what he really craves and needs, what we all crave; unconditional love, safety and acceptance.

On the other hand I think he sees Sam, and deals with him fairly well even though he can't or won't do whats best for his kids.

This fic makes me do something I never thought i would, It makes me pity John for his emotional shortcomings in regards of his children.
