I think fanfic will become much more respected and mainstream within the next five years, and transformative works will have their own place, with fanworks becoming more and more desirable to worlds' originators, and a mutually beneficial financial arrangement will emerge.

I think so, too; it's kind of funny to watch the world sort of nibble at the edges of the prospect. But I think that Harry Potter and its fandom did a huge service to the rest of the fannish world on that front, and this will forever be my favorite thing about Harry Potter. <3
