I know for my BigBang I was quite explicit in two parts of the Big Bang asking for comments. Because yeah, we're doing this for free, partially to keep ourselves happy, but readers comments is like rocket fuel, and that kind of fix can really carry you a long way. So I don't blame you. I look at older stories and there would be like 200 comments for every fic, now it seems as if fandom has moved on, but I don't think it's so much as moved on as gone to kindles and iPads and it's just awkward to come back. One extra step to give feedback. But you have to believe people are reading, they are just reading on their own and not commenting… that's my story and I'm sticking to it. : S
