And thank you for, like, the awesomest comment ever!

As regards my author's note, you know, it would make a reader sad if a perfectly nice, upstanding cop got his head slammed into a car and kidnapped just because he was inconvenient for Sam and Dean to deal with in some other fashion. A guy who tried to execute them and decided they deserved serious punishment before even laying eyes on them? ... doesn't make for many sad readers. ;-) But I LOVE what you say about what he's seeing in them that is "not untrue"--yes yes yes! I love that you love Troy, because he may be a pretty bad fellow, but he knows his job well enough to, as you say, see accurately SOME things about the Winchesters that lay people miss. (And let me just say here that I have great respect for cops, and I do admire Troy's skills in that area, even if I don't like how he uses them. I have some friends who are cops, and the shit they have to deal with sometimes ....)

And since they're so often the POV characters in canon and in fic, we don't always get to see the world outside of their quite biased perceptions of it. This is definitely a part of who they are that doesn't get seen that often, exactly because of how calm they are about it.

I don't have anything particular to say about this; I just love the way you said it.

It's light and humorous but it's also the Winchesters having to deal with traffic cop bullshit...and traffic cops having to deal with Winchester bullshit. :P

BEAUTIFULLY put. You also managed to hit on the inspiration for this story. Sam and Dean have been hauled in for assault, murder, grave desecration, and any number of other serious crimes, but with the amount of time they spend on the road, and the way Dean drives, they would inevitably get stopped by the cops for something completely mundane, and the Winchesters have so much to hide! They keep the arsenal kinda sorta hidden, but at any given moment, they probably have all kinds of weird shit like flame throwers and illegal substances or bomb-making materials and swords and stolen religious relics and who knows what else, and they would probably keep that lying around in the back seat! So, thinking of this made all kinds of fun scenarios start flying around my brain, and this fic was the result.

And from a writing POV I love the way you did the scene where Dean slams Troy's head against the Impala; I can't quite articulate why I found the mechanics of that so satisfying, but the image was wonderful, as was the ordering of events, and it was just a very effective scene for me.

I can't tell you how gratified I was that you said this--I thought good and hard about how to tell that from Troy's perspective when even Troy isn't sure what happened. I'm SOO happy to hear it worked for you!

Possibly the Walt is the same in both pairs.

That would be AWESOME!

You and I have already discussed our love for Walt and Roy, but you know who I love even more is Kubrick and Creedy. Now you're giving me delicious ideas for adventures when Troy and Walt cross paths with Kubrick and Creedy! :-D

I would oh-so-gladly give you an update on Troy's whereabouts whenever you have a hankering for it.
