Good point! The subset of people who know what RSS feeds are, and of platforms that still support RSS nowadays!
AO3 tag-wise, personally I'm way more likely to follow a RSS feed for my smaller, rarer ships (and that's what I do with my Dreamwidth feeds) because I don't check the tags as often (or forget altogether). My reading page (and myself!) would feel totally overwhelmed following the tags for the big ships! And because there's something new every day anyway, I already check there regularly without a feed. So I can kind of understand the pattern, even if people with different feed collections/categories probably set up better systems than I do, haha.
