"'Prophet of the Lord,' huh? Does have a nice ring to it." Still not THAT impressed, but ... not entirely disappointed in her straight-A perfect-student son. Ah, I know this kind of mother so well (okay ... HAD this kind of mother), and this is just so right on. And that look she's giving her son when Dean suggests he tell her what to do (ha ha) ....

Then, of course, the classic tattoo scene, Kevin whining and writhing, and Mama Tran's steely calm. My only problem with Mama Tran this season is not enough of her.

I 100% think that Abaddon is going to come back wearing Mrs. Tran as a meat suit. You heard it here first, kids.

I love Linda so much. <3 She's got some "tiger mommy" going for her, but she's also got "wacky Asian American mom" going for her, which I think is just lovely. And all of her scenes in 8x02--! I need this woman in my life almost much as Kevin does, and I would love to have her back for more. Lauren Tom also played my favorite character in the film version of The Joy Luck Club, so naturally I've basically just superimposed that story and made it Linda's, only Vietnamese. LINDA TRAN RETURN TO MEEEEEEE.

Plus, she makes my brother's mainlining of shitty TV like Futurama bearable, because at least I can think, "Well, Lauren Tom is in this. That's a plus."

Ha, Futurama. Is it shitty now(/still)? I really liked it during its first (actual, you know, before it got cancelled a time or two) season, and then it suddenly became sort of obvious and sexist, and I just ... something about the vibe of it and the people who stan for it has made me steer clear ever since.

Given how much Futurama my brother watches, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that he was WELL past the first season by the time I was present for any of it. XD

He was watching it at our auntie's house one time and was trying to explain it to her. I felt like he was divulging dirty family secrets, letting her know ALL ABOUT THIS SHOW. XP

Though on the subject of my auntie. Her opinion of SPN: "I don't understand why they're so sad all the time! Charmed managed to save the world all the time without being sad!"
