So, my (straight, male) friend to whom I'm introducing SPN said after Dean's One Perfect Tear at the end of "Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things," "I'm not sure if I like this new 'emotional' Dean." ARRGHHH! Men! They don't understand anything.

(I assured him that he wouldn't have to worry, that Dean has appeared to barely feel a thing for seasons now, alas, and he was pleased.)

Hmmm… his little brother dying. Going to Hell. Torturing souls in Hell. His little brother going to Hell. Losing his parents. Losing Bobby. Losing Cas. Losing other people he loves.

I am so right there with ya, my friend. But this friend doesn't allow himself to cry over his sadnesses, so hey, he's Dean! ... and all is explained. I wonder if it'll be all right with him when Sam gets teary, since he doesn't identify with him so much ...?

Yeah, he's a good guy. I've known him since he was a wee tyke. He really IS a lot like Dean, wise-cracking and all. And he's stared down guns before (held up at his job), and knowing him, he surely kept his cool, even if he was secretly pissing himself.

But, as Sam should have discovered by now, IT'S NOT A GOOD IDEA TO IDOLIZE DEAN!

Argh, Sam can't help himself - Big Brother is still God and HE WILL NEVER LEARN! Poor Sam. I'm holding my breath, waiting for all Hell to break loose when he finds out about Zeke.
