L. Is there an episode section of canon above all others that inspires you just a little bit more?

Yeah--that glorious stretch toward the end of S4 of one unbelievably great episode after another: "It's a Terrible Life," "The Monster at the End of This Book," "Jump the Shark," "The Rapture," and "When the Levee Breaks." I've referenced every one of these episodes (except "Jump the Shark") in at least one fic, and it's probably the core of canon from which I draw most of my understanding of the show.

Oh, that's interesting! Personally I'd start from 'On The Head Of A Pin', but that stretch of canon's probably my favourite, too. So many great episodes. ♥

I know people are crazy about that one, but I never took to it that much. It's pretty good, but so much torture porn! If you want to go farther back, "Death Takes a Holiday" is also excellent. Don't care much for "Sex and Violence," but then there's the fantastic "After School Special." Gah, amazing season 4!! I'm just about to get to rewatch it, too, heh heh heh ... *rubs hands together gleefully*
