Cannah? Better than Hannass

ARGH, I'm so inspired by Cas/Hannah that I keep trying to come up with some kind of related episode tag, but as I felt about S2-S3, everything I want to have happen is already happening, so I just want to revel in the joy of letting someone else create exactly what I want to see. :-D

I wish they'd make them weirder and more stilted, Hannah's angelicness more alien, but it's still pretty good, and I LOVE seeing how far Cas has come in understanding how humans behave by putting him with an angel and hearing his insightful explanations of human motivation: "... so that they don't have to talk about something they can do nothing about." Aww ....

Even Hannah's terrible clothes (the pants, mainly) are growing on me, because like any angel, it wouldn't occur to her to change her vessel's clothing once she's possessed her, and evidently her vessel had incredibly bad taste ....

Haha, I agree. They seem more like middle-schoolers than these completely separate beings. But whatever. I love 'em anyway.

I do kind of hope she changes her clothes eventually, but Cas never does, at least not when he's an angel, so she probably won't. I do like, though, that she's pretty and real and not the perfect, Vogue-cover specimen of femininity like most of the women on the show.

TOTALLY. She's SOO otherworldly beautiful, yet her proportions aren't t.v. perfect and she seems in another way eminently human-looking and relatable. Plus, the actress GETS playing an angel so well, whereas most of the other actors (except Misha) have usually played them unrealistically human-like. I love her for that, too.

I agree with the too human thing though. Getting all the mushy feelings for Cas, yeah okay, I can go with that, but I'd like her to be a bit more uncomfortable with it. And the pant suit should go...asap...not in a sexytimes way but y'know...okay it'll probably be in a sexytimes way.

I know what you mean!! Though I think I'm finally finding me niche for this season, even as I'm also basically just thinking "these are all my hopes and dreams and thematic strains already right there; my works here is done before it's started!!" So I'm happy about that. It just means that all my tag stuff is going to be weird as shit. Which... let's be real, I am 100% okay with that. XD

As for Castiel and Hannah, I am loving their adventures together so much! I hope that she and Castiel keep driving around and getting lost and buying gas together. Hannah's taken to humanity very quickly, I agree, aha. I too would have appreciated more weirdness, because I love that, but I'm willing to believe that Hannah really is a quick study (and has a vested interest in the topic, heh).

I don't think I'd have noticed the pants if it weren't for caranfindel, haha, but we got a really good shot of them this episode. OH MY GOD. XDDD But you're right, they're weirdly endearing. I want to know Hannah's vessel now. I feel like she probably does, too.

ME TOO. I loved that when they seemed to feel lost in the middle of nowhere, it turned out they were only five miles away from the bunker. Angels + cars = not a good combo.

ha ha, the pants. I used to think they matched the cheap overjacket in fabric, but yes, this ep had full-length shots in full sun and we got to see them in vivid detail, only to discover they're worn, incredibly tight jeans with the ever-fashionable (and very grown-up looking) rolled-up cuffs. (*gags a little*) Still, somehow, she works it. Also, the childish rolled-up cuffs give her an appropriate edge of innocence that really works for the character ....

I like Hannah a lot, and have from the beginning. She looks beautiful and dorky at the same time. I also wish she was more alien-esque. She uses colloquial phrases ("like a laser") but she's funny and they have a nice, loose chemistry.

Awkward angel sex? Yes, please.

btw, I read your review before I saw the ep, and when you described Cas and Hannah's near-flirtation as Hannah handing Cas a note that read "Do you like me?," you were so deadpan I had no idea if that really happened in the episode or not--you really had me going until I actually watched it. I was relieved when it wasn't quite that middle school. Great review of the ep as always.

I totally laughed at myself watching 10X02, because I ship Cas/Hannah like all hell, and then I was like "but they're angels, so they're technically kind of siblings and ew" and then I slapped my forehead like "um, hello, Wincest?!" So yes, I still ship it.

I'd like to see a fic where they both become human and they settle down and have little babies. Not big babies, little ones. And Sam and Dean come around with pie for them. And they buy a cat.
