How was everyone’s Christmas?

Mine was pretty good, at least once we came home from the family gathering, which was pretty depressing. I had a good at-home Christmas with s_c afterward, though.

But these last couple of days have been like Christmas redux, inasmuch as [livejournal.com profile] indiachick wrote a typically brilliant, gloriously long story for [livejournal.com profile] tricycleman (I’m still only two-thirds done because I’m savoring it), and I got an Always Keep Fighting shirt from [livejournal.com profile] blackrabbit42 (!!!), along with an adorable card hand-drawn by her son. :-) AND, I get to hang out and watch SPN with some local SPN-fan friends this weekend.

I got a hand-me-down, fancy version of an anime I’ve wanted for a long, looong time yesterday (YES!). We even finally braved IKEA to buy some picture ledges so I have someplace to simultaneously store and display my paintings. I’ve never been there before, and now I see what everyone’s talking about: we knew exactly what we wanted and headed right for it, and there was still no way around walking a mile and being there an hour. :-\

I’m worried about my teeth and some family stupidity that may get ugly before long. Things are hanging over me, but for right now, everything’s pretty beautiful. Fingers crossed, knock on wood.

I'll admit, I looooooove IKEA, and the mini-vacation that is walking around IKEA. XD Their home displays are wonderful. I especially love their kids' bedroom set-ups and their mock kitchens. There's no real way to find what you're looking for in an in-and-out sort of way, though, that's for sure. @__@ I'm glad you found the picture ledges eventually! I'd love you see your paintings sometime. :)

Glad you had a mostly happy holiday! :))

It's brilliant to make you walk through everything so you're like, "Oh, yeah, I DID need one of those ...." If I hadn't been light-headed from all the ... IKEA-ness and just trying to stay on my feet, and if I had any stomach for shopping in general at all, and if we'd thought to grab a cart, I'm quite sure I'd have bought at least twice as much, but man, you can't do better than $36 for 6 picture ledges anywhere else in town (or online, which is how we ended up there in the first place!).

The only way I've found so far to make a digital copy of my paintings is to take a (pretty crappy) digital picture of them, so I guess I could, but maybe it wouldn't look like much, alas ...

So glad I could contribute to your second Christmas! Things kind of got screwy for Dash on xmas as well, and we ended up coming home just the two of us, and that was kind of nice.

crossing my fingers for you, too.

(((hugs)))

Family stupidity is always a hazard over xmas, it always seems to bring the crazy to a boil! *hugs*
