Soo ... after that auspicious beginning, it was actually a pretty sucktastic time. :-( More about that and hopefully more video for you after we're home and have put ourselves and our lives back together, but anyway ... miss you all, miss my regular life, can't wait to be back to our regularly scheduled programming. <3

Although there's a pretty straight shot from here to there on the interstate, it's still a long drive, so we already reserved (and paid for!) a night in a mobile-home VRBO about halfway there for Tuesday night, so we have to leave Tuesday.
Just today, I learned there was a big rockslide between here and there on the interstate some weeks ago. They managed to get one lane open and were taking people through there via a pilot car (just like Sam talks about in that fic I wrote recently, "Night Closure"), then they got one lane open going each direction, so it's been open all this time, though there have been delays. No big deal, right?
Because it's a busy road, it's been hard for them to find a time to close it down to finish repairs. GUESS WHAT DAY THEY DECIDED TO CLOSE IT DOWN ENTIRELY, ALL DAY.
